Active CCTV Systems
An Active CCTV system is a system which records evidence or incidents and also informs a third party of activity on-site e.g. a third party monitoring station (Central Station). The system transmits pictures from the site to the central station, the operator can then review the site and issue a local warning via a tannoy system to the site to warn off the intruder or vandals. In extreme cases the police can even be informed.
This system is ideal for sites with high value stored outside, areas of high vandalism, schools, or anywhere you would want to put an on site security guard but can not afford this option. The system has lots of advantages over a security guard as it is much more cost effective, it is always awake and it can cover the whole site at the same time.
